Grandma Joins The Parade

Last night, my Grandma was in my dreams, but I didn't actually see her. Apparently there was a parade on the strip featuring a Spanish teacher. She had taken a week long vacation from school, and in order to justify it, she had to have a parade to celebrate her Spanish history. How a school teacher was allowed to shut down the strip was beyond me.

Apparently Bill Purdy took my grandma to the strip for the parade, as this woman was a friend of my grandma's. I remember being worried because her Alzheimer's was so bad that she couldn't even remember my name. I snapped at my mom for letting her go to an event like that without one of us. I was trying to call my Grandma's cell phone, but I realized she didn't have one. I felt helpless and worried sick.

From a distance, my mom called channel 8 to cover the parade as there was no news coverage. The news crew was unable to get a live feed, so we decided we'd watch it from the top of our building. Our building seemed to be in the relative location of the Palms, but the building was a LOT older and the view was of a wash that had a wall in back of it with graffiti. It actually reminded me a bit of the wall with the homes behind it when getting on the 95 to John and Kei's before you hit Tropicana.

Also thrown in was Juliet and I being excited that we'd finally be able to cut the cost of living down by moving into an apartment. I'm just hoping the apartment wasn't the old building we were watching the city from!

This was a lot to take in during the 4 hours of sleep we had. We woke up to the alarm playing Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, and we are now off to go for a 3 hour hike in Red Rock.
