Somehow I ended up in a maze like building and I entered some basement area. At a table were some of my old GVHS Tennis teammates, but none of my closer friends. I guess we had to get to the state championships and nobody had told me. I was to play in the individuals and had missed my first 2 matches. Luckily, those players were no shows and defaulted because they were scared to play me. Knowing that I had an hour or 2 to spare, I went for a walk.
I ended up at some building that reminded me a bit of the old Whittlesea taxicab authority where my dad used to work. I hid behind a tiny wall as a pimp was at some machine with his 70's Lincoln still running. As he walked back, I made my way to the machine and noticed $40 on the floor in the form of 2 $20 bills. I greeted him and said "What's going on?" in a nice manner, and he snubbed me. I was going to tell him about the money on the ground, but he was a right dick so I didn't. As he drove off, I went back and snagged the cash.
After picking up the scratch, I went to this machine. It was an automated car salesman. As you scrolled through the cars, a face would tell you about the model, the colors, availability, etc. Then somehow it asked about the money on the floor and when I tried to explain my position, it got loud, the sky got dark and the face was flaming like the devil. It went off on a rant calling me a thief and I decided to go give the money to somebody else. As I escaped, I awoke.
Note to self: Never pick up $40!

How'd The Day End?
Need I go into depth? I was still sick, so I remained at home until about midnight. Then I had to drive to the bank to deposit money. Apparently you can overdraft your account with money still in it. Whoddathunkit?

How'd The Day End?
Basically yesterday was a big ball of crap. I was under the weather thanks to a sore throat, so not much was done other than working and eating a truckload of fruit. Today seems to be more of the same.
No dreams were had last night.

Auction Gone Awry
Apparently Dave decided that looking for a boat would be the smart thing to do. We made way to an auction and found a beautiful black boat that was perfect. It was yacht sized and was going to be a steal. Dave put in a bid for $10k as a number to get things moving (not assuming he'd be liable for the purchase). As we looked around, we noticed that the boat was his for the $10k and he was fuming. He didn't mean to make a winning bid, but now he was stuck with it. of course all sensibility was lost in a dream, as 10k for a yacht would be AMAZING and could easily be sold off for 20 times the price!
As the papers were signed and payment was arranged, a semi came with 2 racks (that looked like the car shippers), and had a semi cab on top, and the trailer below. This definitely wasn't the boat Dave bought, but was what he had just signed off on. What a rip off!

How'd The Day End?
Yesterday was an early day. It started off with an 8am trek to Guitar Center to get a birdcage mic for Juliet. After that and a 12 pack of drumsticks, we met Jean and Sara for a hike up at Redrock. The weather was perfect and the workout was great!
After a 4 mile journey, we got back to the house where I slept for a bit. After awakening from my slumber, I hit Lowes for propane and torch oil, Target for 2 more garage boxes and Vons for cheese. A quick drive back to the house and a quick cleanup, and it was BBQ time!
The food was great, the wine/Jager/Guinness was great and so was the conversation. It was definitely a great day and I'm hoping to keep up the hiking thing for quite some time.

Grandma Joins The Parade
Last night, my Grandma was in my dreams, but I didn't actually see her. Apparently there was a parade on the strip featuring a Spanish teacher. She had taken a week long vacation from school, and in order to justify it, she had to have a parade to celebrate her Spanish history. How a school teacher was allowed to shut down the strip was beyond me.
Apparently Bill Purdy took my grandma to the strip for the parade, as this woman was a friend of my grandma's. I remember being worried because her Alzheimer's was so bad that she couldn't even remember my name. I snapped at my mom for letting her go to an event like that without one of us. I was trying to call my Grandma's cell phone, but I realized she didn't have one. I felt helpless and worried sick.
From a distance, my mom called channel 8 to cover the parade as there was no news coverage. The news crew was unable to get a live feed, so we decided we'd watch it from the top of our building. Our building seemed to be in the relative location of the Palms, but the building was a LOT older and the view was of a wash that had a wall in back of it with graffiti. It actually reminded me a bit of the wall with the homes behind it when getting on the 95 to John and Kei's before you hit Tropicana.
Also thrown in was Juliet and I being excited that we'd finally be able to cut the cost of living down by moving into an apartment. I'm just hoping the apartment wasn't the old building we were watching the city from!
This was a lot to take in during the 4 hours of sleep we had. We woke up to the alarm playing Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, and we are now off to go for a 3 hour hike in Red Rock.

The day was spent "working", although I didn't get much done. Gallery submitting was done at a later time than usual. After working, I went to the store with Juliet and we got some BBQ food. We decided that bbq'ing 2 days in a row would be fun.
My parents arrived late after watching a show, but we sat outside until 1:30 eating, drinking, talking and having a lot of fun. It's nights like those I'll never forget.

Selling The Business
Of course my dream had to start off with a reference to yesterday. I ended up back at Audio express and the repair man was up in arms about the amplifier not being soldered on to the amp rack. Although that would make no sense at all, I took it for what it was and listened to the techs arguing.
After the bitching and moaning ended, I somehow ended up in a restaurant/bar. Apparently I had taken over the bar for the old owner, and I was behind 500 thousand. After telling the collector that I was going to have to give the bar up, they decided they wanted to put it up for auction. At that point, Jean was working for me and I inquired one more time as to what was owed and if it was solely on me. I was told $500k again and that the debt wouldn't transfer to the new owner, so I signed the title over to Jean for $5 making him aware that we were now 50/50 partners.
After the papers were signed, I checked my debt again, and the guy proceeded to tell me that it was a typo. I really only owed $5000.00, and that he missed the decimal point. I was furious, but the contract that I had written to Jean stated that it could not be sold back to me for God knows what reason. Not much longer after that, I awake from my slumber....Thankfully it wasn't to a phone call this morning, or thanks to a door to door salesman!

How'd The Day End?
The day started off with a quick gallery submission. I raced through it faster than normal, and took Juliet to the dry cleaners. After that, we made a quick trip to audio express, drove by the VW dealership and went shopping at Vons. We did some serious shopping and then went home to get ready for the night.
After a quick change, we met up Jean and Sara. Once all were aboard, we made our drive to Tao for the Gym Class Heroes Party. After a few drinks and a great show, we went over to Tofu Hut where I ate some meat, rice and a weird block of fish. After our bellies were full and our buzz was gone, we made it over to Revolution Bar. Jean was back to the old days!!! Laughing at people dancing, drinking Long Islands and just being a cheery bastard! From there we called it a night and got some rest around 2am.

Seeing Old Friends At Walmart
The dream was set in 1 place: Walmart. As I was walking through the isles, I ran into Anthony O. We was an old friend in Junior High and in HS, he was a complete dick. I remember him coming up to me in Sophmore year when he was Mr. Cool Kid and asking me "What's it feel like to be a nerd!". I've wished I could rewind to that moment forever so that I could fill his face with fist, but sometimes saying/doing nothing back at all is the smartest thing to do.
Anyways, as I was shopping with Juliet, he and his wife were in the magazine article. I didn't say a word to him, but I heard him say to his wife "I know that guy. That's Derek Douglas". With that she said "Derek! Remember Anthony?!". I said yes of course and he had his head down trying to avoid me. After his wife, Juliet and I exchanged conversation, she asked to exchange numbers so we could all have dinner one night. She was looking for a piece of paper, while Juliet just had me hand them her card. She wrote their number down and we went on our way. As we walked, I heard him say "Why would you want to get together with a guy that I owe something to?". I was unclear what he meant, but I just kept moving.
All of a sudden my mom shows up. She sees a pool able for $347 dollars that is pretty nice, but not before she suggests buying my dad a mini table. When I told her the mini was too small, the big one suddenly appeared. My mom has never let my dad get a pool table, but for some reason, she decided to buy it and surprise him. As we're walking and chatting, my mom inquires about the penalty for tax evasion. She mentions 5 years or a fine..She said she prefers the 5 years. I told her that's probably the best, as club fed is a walk in the park, and she agreed.
After I walked a little more Juliet and I were together again. we walked down an isle with little cubicles. Inside I saw Anthony in a cubicle showing stuff into a bag. It turns out he's in Real Estate. I told him everybody and their mom chooses that occupation when they don't know what else to do with life, and he then asked what I do. I did the whole webmaster spiel before waking up. He seemed content with that answer and told me to call him when I plan on buying my next home.
Of course the dream/sleep ended with the phone ringing.

How'd The Day End?
Yesterday was an interesting day. I woke up late thanks to a phone call from Juliet. I got up and prepared to babysit. Alex got there late (around 2:15), and I watched the lil' bugger. Jenna had a rough day and got here to pick Dylan up at 4:45. She was having a rough time and I know she wanted to chat, but I was late to get to the movie, so I helped her get Dylan ready to go.
I went to the theatre and watched Pirates 3. It was the world's longest movie and I didn't get to see enough of ol' tentacle face. After that, we grabbed some grub and hit the Deal or No Deal machine. I won $25 on that and decided to hit the poker room to get drinks. Needless to say, the drinks never came in there and I left up $4.
After that, we hit up Al's Garage. We had Mojitos and Nachos for a couple hours. The bill was $30, so all in all, the day was a free one for me! I got home around 1:30 and caught Juliet before bed. We had a talk and I'm hoping that I can make her a happy woman once again. I miss her constant smile.

A Drinking Test
Interruptions always happen when I am dreaming. Today it came in the form of a salesman at 9:30am for a pest control service. Thankfully, I remembered what happened up until then. I remember being at a bar with Mike, Emily and some unknown people. We were chatting, shooting the shit. It was a smaller bar. Maroon seats, sherry wood walls, greening floors and a real ritzy pool table. It's was like a high end Irish throwback. I remember Mike asking me "Do I have a trophy wife?". Then we walked through a door and into a cafeteria.
Apparently it was test time and Juliet was with me, as was Mike. We walked to a couch to take the test and I saw Chasen along at a table with his head down. I ran over to him and greeted him enthusiastically (after I asked Juliet first). I asked how he was doing and he said things have been rough lately. We chatted for a minute and the tests were passed out.
It was SAT style, but the questions were based on alcohol. I was totally stumped and Mason and Chasen came over to help. Before I could get any further, I woke up. Damn..All that alcohol, and I didn't even get a buzz!

How'd The Day End?
After the early phone calls from the over eager AC people, I started work at 9am. I was in a state of boredom for quite some time and I finished work in time to finish cleaning the back yard. After some manual labor, I had a sushi feast with Jean, Juliet, Rus and Sara. After we binged on raw fish, we hit Walmart for some alky and to my crib to finish Pirates 2. Sara and Rus didn't make it of course...Sexy Time!
It's quite possible that a new car will be in my possession by the end of the week. We'll see. Now I'm off to dreamland. See you tomorrow!
P.S. BadicalBeats.com is down, and my server tech isn't answering. What a whore bag!

This House Is Made Of Cardboard
As I stand in front of my house, I get this weird hankering to trot on down to the sales office to pickup a speeding ticket that never made it to my mailbox. #1, it's odd that there's a sales office and #2, it's odd that the cop just didn't give me the ticket when I was stopped. As I'm doing this, a convertible drives by with a bunch of blonde headed Richie Riches and Bitchie Riches. All were as blonde as can be, and whooping it up as if they were the Partridge Family on a sugar high.
On the way back home, I caught the self assured blonde guy in front of my house and he started to chat me up. He was talking about not having enough space in his house, that it was too small and that he was embarrassed to be in this neighborhood. I remember thinking he was a self righteous prick, but going with him to check out the digs. He took me the back way and into a room upstairs. It was large room that had brownish walls, ugly carpet and mosaic wallpaper that was shiny as if the colored pieces were made of gems. There was a small tv on a crappy stand, and a sofa/pullout about 20 feet away on the opposite wall. I mentioned that the room was huge and he said "It has to be...My sister and I share it. It's the largest room in the house." That creeped me out a bit but I didn't say anything. Of course I was wondering what he and his 18 year old sister were doing sharing a room and a tiny bed.
Before I could find out what was behind this setup, My wife woke me with a phone call... It was the AC people. Thank God...That dream was getting to be just a bit too creepy for me!

How'd The Day End?
Yesterday was pretty uneventful. The highlight of the day was the Air Conditioning guys coming and quoting me less than I thought to get the air in tip top shape again. Aside from that, I worked and had a decent sales day, I watched Pirates Of The Caribbean and burned some popcorn.
I'm pretty sure the burned popcorn smell will take 3 years to mask. It smells a lot like I imagine nuclear fallout to smell.

Dream Collage
Last night's dreams were nothing more than a collage of mess. However, there was only 1 Point that I remembered:
- A strange car commercial with a green BMW going over a bridge with the bolts popping out as the bridge was collapsing. When the car pulled in front of the screen for the side shot, the voice over said the car was a 6 series... However it looked more like an OLD Rolls Royce than anything.
There was a lot more streaming in and out of my brain, but I'll just assume it was a mental hallucination due to the fact that I was hotter than a an 800lb man in a sweater, sitting under the blazing sun in the Sahara Desert.

Today was definitely not a great day. To begin with, the air conditioner took a dump. It's 86 degrees in the house and it's not cooling down anytime soon. To top it off, sales were super slow and I played basketball like an undersized midget.
I'm hoping tomorrow gets much better.

A Spider And His Pal Are Crushed
I'm starting to feel quite bad for all of these spiders appearing in my dreams. Last night as I'm in between sleep and alertness (due to the Air Conditioning having gone out), I managed to slip into a dream. 2 large spiders that were ALMOST tarantula sized popped out on nowhere on to my floor. They were a light brownish and their legs were longer than most spiders I've seen. Of course I did my best to avoid them as I hate arachnids, but I knew that I'd have to kill them to avoid possible eggs being dropped.
I found a lone shoe and proceeded to swat these little bastards into oblivion. Of course they put up a fight, but after 4-5 whacks on the first to render it squashed, I was able to move on to the second that was now retreating. 1 smack of the shoe debilitated spider number 2, and I awoke immediately...but not before feeling bad, as many people prefer to keep tarantulas as pets. I remember being upset that I didn't save them in a jar for somebody to place in captivity, but what are you supposed to do when you fear something so much?
